The Gas Data Performance Analyst is responsible for supporting all asset and performance data associated with Gas Operations systems and databases. This position requires the individual to maintain functional, technical, and business knowledge tied to key databases used for compliance as well as performance reporting. This individual is responsible for data stewardship and maintaining data integrity to support Gas Operations.

Under limited direction, this individual is responsible for serving as the liaison between Gas Operations management, end users, as well as IS related functions such as database and system administration. This role is responsible for data mapping, report development, coding and user acceptance testing as well as development and maintenance of Gas Operations KPI's using databases tied to Service Suite, S2k, GIS, ARM, FCS (Field Collection System - Meter reading) and any other Gas Operations business applications. This individual will provision data for routine and ad-hoc reporting for all Gas Operations compliance and performance reporting. This individual is expected to interact frequently with senior management and expected to conduct frequent trend analysis, monitor key performance indicators, and identify opportunities as well as make recommendations for improvements to Gas operations business processes and reporting.

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or 3 years of experience with database design or data modeling, report coding and/or dashboard development

  • Demonstrated ability to create and write code in SQL

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Gas Operations processes and procedures

  • Strong working knowledge of order scheduling systems or ability to learn and comprehend new and advanced technologies

  • High level analytical skills and demonstrated high level of proficiency with spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint) and well as Microsoft SQL Server and/or PowerBI

  • Demonstrated effective oral/written communication, organizational, presentation, facilitation and planning skills

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of S2K, Service Suite, ARM, and GIS database structure

  • Demonstrates individual leadership skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Duke Internship/Coop experience.

  • A background/certification in Lean Six Sigma statistical analysis and process improvement is preferred

  • Experience using SharePoint and creating team sites

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility. Reliable, consistent transportation is required to ensure timely arrival at the applicable facility.
