Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): NC, AZ, GA and TX.

Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), a division of First Citizens Bank, is the bank of the world's most innovative companies and investors. As Software Engineer I, you will work with Product Managers, Analyst, Testers and cross-functional global teams in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. You will interpret design and develop scalable and efficient software tools that support all aspects of client facing Commercial Client Lifecycle Management and Onboarding systems. This role will be required to work closely with cross-functional teams and across organizations to define & implement solutions for existing and new client onboarding applications, providing ongoing support to the systems developed.

The ideal candidate should have the necessary skills and experience to provide technical understanding, estimation of efforts, and input on deciding upon the optimal technology solution to achieve the desired business needs, day to day application support, should be able to navigate differing levels of gray/unknowns, and have excellent communication skills with Vendor partners, other IT management levels, individual contributors, and business stakeholders. They must be able to move at a rapid rate of execution to deliver requests and take advantage of any opportunities as they present themselves and navigate through any resource constraints. They must have both the short- and long-term strategic view when deciding on the best technical approach. They must be able to develop code and effectively oversee distributed development team members.


Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for all software aspects within the team including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing and supporting them.

  • Design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Provide module level development input (Architecture, Design, Development) for medium to large sized projects and maintenance on our client facing APIbanking systems.
  • Contribute to and drive department best practices, guidelines implementation and adhering to standards.
  • Experience building and maintaining large software platforms.
  • Innate desire to create a superlative developer experience down to the last detail.
  • Deep love of building elegant, maintainable, well-documented, secure code
  • Abstracting, refactoring and/or testing solutions should be a passion, not a chore.
  • Drive to learn new things and develop your technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 1 years of experience in Programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in Programming

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to understand and influence software architecture and design.
  • Hands-on development expertise in React, NodeJS, JAVA, Spring-Boot, J2EE & Enterprise Technologies JMS, JDBC, Web development, Transactions, WS-*, JVM, JNDI, JMX, JTA.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development and Agile Methodologies in both a co-located and a distributed team environment is a plus.

Nice to have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Microservices architecture, SOA, Spring Boot etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Web services development (SOAP,REST)
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing CI/CD (Continuous Integration & Delivery) techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of MQs and Kafka
  • Experience with implementing SSO and security protocols like SAML2.0, OAuth2.0 etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with RDBMSs (Oracle or MS SQL Server).
  • Prior experience with regulated financial organization is a plus.
  • Working knowledge on AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Docker, OpenShift
  • Experience with Client and Internal facing solutions using products Fenergo (FenX) and or similar KYC/Onboarding platforms
  • Banking/Payments Industry knowledge with experience delivering on large modernization/transformative efforts
