A Brief Overview Provides safe transport of children to and from the program daily. Ensures that the buses are safe to drive daily. Ensures maintenance and safety are continuously monitored and necessary repairs completed. Purchase and transport of program supplies and equipment as requested. May be requested to assist in providing clerical activities.
What you will do
- Provides safe, daily transportation for children and their families; must be able to drive a minibus and supervise children during transport.
- Picks up and drops off children only at authorized and designated locations and care providers.
- Maintains close supervision of children during transportation to ensure safety and therapeutic support.
- Communicates regularly with clinical team members regarding behavioral issues observed during transport.
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and hazard-free environment at all times.
- Demonstrates and utilizes non-violent crisis intervention strategies to support adaptive functioning.
- Uses Non-violent Physical Crisis Intervention only as a last resort when less restrictive measures fail.
- Under close supervision, provides ongoing assessment of children during any restrictive procedures.
- Ensures vehicle safety and functionality, including reporting malfunctions, arranging maintenance, and maintaining safety equipment (seat belts, fire extinguisher, first aid kit).
- Maintains required vehicle and child transportation paperwork; notifies leadership of hazardous driving conditions; and assists with purchasing, picking up, and distributing program supplies, food, and snacks.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
Experience Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of prior work experience with children who have special health care or behavioral needs Preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Familiar with and comfortable using computers (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Department of Motor Vehicles - upon hire - Required and
- Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention - Crisis Prevention Institute - within 3 months - Required

$20.55 - $25.69 Hourly
