Inserso is seeking an Application Developer to support our customer's online training management system. The position will primarily serve as a Microsoft Power Platform Solution Developer collaborating with other application developers and government stakeholders. Additionally, they will act as a liaison between the system training specialists and the user population. This role requires an experienced developer versed in Power Platform Development and Automation, as well as strong experience with Business Analysis & Solution Designing to translate business requirements into scalable Power Platform solutions, while ensuring data integrity, and delivering insights that enhance operational efficiency and strategic planning across DHS programs. The position is remote and requires excellent self-management skills, communication, and customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and Dataflows in DHS approved unclassified cloud environments.
- Develop backend data structures and integrations that support reliable, scalable Power Platform solutions.
- Provide day-to-day customer support services to maintain an online training application and other related training applications.
- Serve as liaison with training system business owners, instructors, and end users by providing customer support, troubleshooting, testing, and requirement gathering.
- Collaborate with other application developers to develop training system enhancements and improvements.
- Collaborate with DHS stakeholders to understand mission needs, operational workflows, and process constraints.
- Analyze DHS business processes and recommend automation or optimization opportunities.
- Prepare an implementation plan for any approved changes to be made to a system and present to the technical points of contact and the government representative for approval.
- Design and implement Business Intelligence & Reporting solutions, including dashboards, automated reports, and data models that support DHS operational and programmatic decision making.
- Create and maintain documentation, including requirements, design artifacts, user guides, and operational procedures.
- Plan and coordinate the testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the online training application and supporting software.
- Log all major configuration changes for each system and maintain records of all updates in appropriate system logs.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Eligibility to work in the United States and meet DHS identity verification requirements.
- 3+ years' experience developing solutions with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and Dataflows.
- 3+ years' experience designing backend data structures to support Power Platform applications.
- 1+ year experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes using Power Query, Dataflows, SSIS, SQL, Python, SSRS or similar data engineering tools.
- 1+ year of experience using online collaboration & presentation tools (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.) using audio and video peripherals to conduct training.
- In-Depth understanding of database management, OLAP, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment.
- Must have excellent teamworking and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant (PL 200) certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Access writing and troubleshooting VBA and SQL in Access forms.
- Experience with Microsoft Access relational database design and relationships.
- Experience supporting DHS or other similar federal agencies.
