The ServiceNow Administrator is a key member of the Information Technology team, responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and maintenance of the firm's ServiceNow platform. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the platform's reliability, performance, and security, while also providing essential basic engineering support. The administrator will be responsible for managing core ITSM applications, troubleshooting issues, and automating internal business processes. Additionally, they will be involved in light development and customization of the platform to enhance functionality and meet evolving business needs. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform, IT Service Management best practices, and a foundational knowledge of application development and scripting.

How You'll Help Our Team Succeed:

  • Perform day-to-day administration and configuration of the ServiceNow platform, including but not limited to, core ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog, and Knowledge Management), HRSD, Application Engine, and CMDB. This includes configuring forms, tables, fields, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and data imports.

  • Design, develop, and customize new applications, modules, and functionalities within the ServiceNow platform to meet evolving business needs.

  • Manage the development and promotion of update sets between environments (e.g., Development, Test, Production) to ensure a controlled and consistent deployment process.

  • Monitor platform performance and identifies areas for optimization. Implement best practices for scripting, data model design, and system configuration to ensure platform scalability and responsiveness.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute system maintenance, patch installations, and version upgrades in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for all ServiceNow-related issues, troubleshooting technical problems, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows using Flow Designer or legacy workflows, to streamline and optimize internal business processes and improve efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance analytics to monitor platform health, usage, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management.

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of integrations between ServiceNow and other internal systems or third-party applications using APIs and IntegrationHub.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and training materials. Provide training and guidance to end-users to ensure effective use of the platform.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience (at least 3+ as a ServiceNow Administrator); professional services experience preferred.

  • The desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firm

  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to learn the firm's financial and operational functions.

  • The mindset to provide superior service.

  • Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting languages.

  • Experience with relational databases and data management within the ServiceNow platform.

  • Familiarity with web service integrations.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on internal customer service.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team, contributing to the firm's overall success.

  • The ability to commute to our office in Chicago to comply with our hybrid work policy of 2-3 days per week in office.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.

Cornerstone Research is offering a competitive market base salary for this position. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in all eligible locations. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Cornerstone Research, we believe compensation is more than just a base salary. We offer a competitive total compensation package that includes an annual performance bonus and comprehensive benefits such as flexible options for healthcare, paid time off, and retirement savings. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Boston: $72,000.00 - $92,200.00

Chicago: $68,200.00 - $87,300.00

New York: $73,200.00 - $93,700.00

Washington, DC: $70,700.00 - $90,500.00
