Location: Moody Outpatient Center 5th Floor
PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for learning specific patient care activities to include basic hygiene care, non-sterile treatments, taking vital signs, assisting with range of motion exercises, lifting, ambulating and feeding patients. Learns about sanitation, infection control, safety, supplies and equipment usage. Learns to monitor condition of patient environment and equipment as well as correcting problems with same. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education - Completes one of Parkland's grant funded or non-grant funded job specific training programs after being hired or reclassed into the position. Experience - None. Certification/Registration/Licensure - Must have a current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Skills or Special Abilities - Must be able to learn and effectively perform specific patient care techniques and requirements. - Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
