Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant Specialist performs a variety of work duties that require specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations of The Joint Commission (TJC). These duties also include, but are not limited to: environmental care functions, equipment/supply management and cleaning/disinfecting the environment, management of liquid next-generation sequencing (NGS) testing orders. Incumbents may also provide routine or back-up front office services. The Medical Assistant Specialist serves as a liquid next-generation sequencing resource to cross-departmental multi-disciplinary teams across cancer services. Key responsibilities include providing next-generation sequencing testing direction to the multi-disciplinary team, coordination of liquid next-generation sequencing test collections, oversight of the shipping process, and primary liaison between third-party agencies and the multidisciplinary team. The Medical Assistant Specialist initiates and participates in improvement efforts that directly impact NGS testing needs across cancer services. Additional duties may be assigned. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $60,239 - $75,001 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $28.85 - $35.92 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
