Where You'll Make a Difference

  • Production Management: Oversee blending, packing, and pre-weighing functions; work with Production Supervisor and shift leads; manage hiring/termination of plant personnel and temporary employees; approve plant overtime and shift adjustments; oversee annual performance appraisals.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet quality standards; follow FSSC 22000 procedures; enforce GMP standards; comply with FDA, TX Dept. of Health, and AIB practices; drive improvements to reach FTR targets.
  • Timely Production: Ensure timely production, packaging, labeling, and completion of weekly plans to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Tracks production against plan, lost time, and yield
  • Establish and maintain performance tracking tools per asset and operator to maximize output and meet capacity targets
  • Oversee the replenishment cycles of packaging and consumables utilized in production
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure tasks are completed safely; enforce safety rules; work with EHS and Food Safety teams to promote a safety culture. Personally participate in MOCs related to the safety process rollout and Task risk assessments
  • Employee Engagement: Promote employee ownership and engagement in EHS and other site activities.
  • Incident Investigation: Support the incident investigation system; ensure proper classification and root cause analysis; implement corrective actions.
  • Data Management: Track production output, yield, capacity utilization, and other measures to support continuous improvement.
  • Case Management: Manage injuries/illnesses with site leadership and medical case manager; ensure proper classification and OSHA recordkeeping.
  • Health Assessments: Coordinate annual medical exams and Occupational Health assessments.
  • Emergency Response: Support response teams in drills and actual incidents.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work with raw material planning and logistics teams to meet delivery targets. Accountability for raw material feeding to pre-weigh stations
  • Work with the Continuous Improvement team to identify Improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of these
  • Participate in Savings Opportunity Tracking to support savings initiatives and deliver against the annual budget
  • Work closely with Maintenance to support Preventive repairs and Planned maintenance cycles
  • Contribute to Capex discussions, providing Production expertise and insights into operational challenges
  • Participate actively in Gemba walks, Safety observation programs, Hygiene audit programs, and be a key member of Problem-solving initiatives.

What Makes You the Right Fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Operational management (or related field) or equivalent progressive work experience to compensate for the degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in a food plant or related business
  • 6+ years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Successful experience in initiating productivity improvements, including the implementation of new equipment or new processes
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food and Safety Practices.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Strong Computer skills to implement and maintain shift reporting per asset and operator, as well as other operational metrics related to yield, OEE, lost time, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills to use data to drive constructive problem-solving and Continuous Improvement efforts in Production.
