SUMMARY

Assist physicians in providing high-quality patient care, while exhibiting strong customer service skills to all patients and the overall practice. RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for:

  • Answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out from their appointment, and coordinating specialist appointments for patients

  • Collecting patient balances, copays, and credit cards at time of service

  • Reviewing lists of patients who need appointments and calling to schedule when due

  • Verifying demographics and insurance carrier information for every patient

  • Assisting patients with Kiosk sign in

  • Complying with OSHA and DOH standards

  • Scheduling, coordinating, and tracking STAT patient referrals and pre-authorizations

  • Adhering to Brown Health Medical Group guidelines for protecting patients' demographic, clinical, and financial information

  • Providing superior customer service and outstanding patient care

  • Attending meetings/workshops as they relate to current position and office workflows

  • Performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge normally acquired through completion of two-year Medical Office Management/Medical Secretary program or equivalent experience in a physician's medical office practice. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

EXPERIENCE

Two years' experience in a physician's medical office practice. Proficient in English language and computer appointment scheduling skills; familiarity with medical office procedures and medical terminology. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay Range:

$18.13-$29.90
