Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world's most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

Position Summary

Review and provide input for supplier selection activities including supplier evaluation and quality systems audits. Will coordinate supplier process capability programs for new components, processes, assemblies or purchased finished goods.

Responsibilities

1) Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products and processes of suppliers.

2) Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contracts.

3) Coordinates with customers and suppliers relating to quality performance, trends, and corrective action. Verifies compliance and effectiveness of the quality system by performing supplier audits and surveys. Initiate programs to improve supplier performance.

4) Lead supplier development activities geared towards increased implementation of Dock-to-Stock and replenishment programs.

5) Works with suppliers to refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to assure quality of goods and services provided.

6) Will be responsible for ensuring that nonconforming material is dispositioned in a timely manner, in addition to analyzing defect trends in order to initiate appropriate corrective action.

7) Responsible for the specification and validation of inspection tools and gages for suppliers.

8) Integral participant in all design reviews; reviews and approves all Supplier Quality Requirement Plans (SQR's) and develops follow-up plans after implementation.

9) Will perform Quality Systems and Process Audits of current suppliers including reporting, follow-up and closure of non-conformances.

10) Handle process improvements at supplier facilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering field or related technical discipline required. ASQ certification as Quality Engineer preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with precision machining.
- A thorough understanding of use and application of statistical quality assurance methods is required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, top management and suppliers.
- Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing functions.
- Ability to use standard business software applications and/or specialized data analysis tools.
