Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Courthouse Screener Flex in Bushnell, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will help manage entry screening and access control, monitor assigned areas, and complete routine patrols to help discourage security-related incidents. You will provide clear communication and customer service while supporting staff and visitors with professionalism. This is an armed post requiring an Armed Guard Card or License, backed by a caring culture that values agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Screen visitors, employees, and deliveries for authorized entry by verifying identification, checking credentials, and controlling access points in accordance with post orders.
  • Operate and monitor screening equipment and related tools such as walk-through metal detectors, handheld wands, and/or X-ray systems when assigned, and report prohibited items or concerns per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalating concerns to onsite leadership and/or local authorities as required.
  • Complete required logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and communicate clearly with site personnel to help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
