Job Description




As a Security Officer Flex - Armed Patrol Driver in Gibsonton, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service requests with calm, professional communication. This role requires a valid driver's license and an armed guard card or license. Bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, people-first mindset to every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out armed post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site personnel and public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, substations, yard areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor access control points for employees, contractors, and visitors, verifying authorization and documenting entries, exits, and vehicle activity per site policy.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrols, inspections, incidents, and maintenance or operational concerns observed during rounds, and communicate updates to supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a Guard Card/License preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
