Job Description




As a Security Officer - Neighborhood Foot Patrol in Aurora, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a high-tech communications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. You will provide standout customer service and clear communication to team members and site contacts. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and post orders at a technology-focused location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior spaces, building exteriors, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, and other security-related systems, and take appropriate actions such as dispatching assistance, communicating with site contacts, and documenting observations.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with emergency response activities as directed by site procedures.
  • Complete detailed written reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions and/or to site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
