Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Atrium Rover in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a high-profile commercial real estate location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, document concerns using site technology, and deliver clear communication and customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas, including lobbies, corridors, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter points, noting and reporting unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, assist with visitor direction, and help to identify unauthorized persons and/or prohibited activities; notify management and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance, de-escalation when appropriate, and timely communication to site contacts.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and service requests, and coordinate with property management and/or maintenance to follow up on security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
