Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Unit

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Unit in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol outdoor public spaces and nearby utility and cultural locations, completing routine rounds, staying highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and responding to service requests with clear communication. You will document observations, support event and guest needs, and work with site partners as needed. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in outdoor public park and cultural event spaces and nearby utility-adjacent areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, lost children and/or property reports, and coordinating with public responders as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of grounds, walking paths, gathering areas, restrooms, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, observe visitor and vendor activity, and assist with crowd movement during events and peak periods while providing clear directions and information.
• Complete shift reports and incident documentation, communicate observations via radio and/or phone, and report maintenance hazards, lighting issues, and suspicious activity to site contacts according to post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
