What to Expect
As an Electrical Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing electrical construction projects from start to finish. You will collaborate closely with the Design team, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project completion on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively will be crucial as you coordinate and facilitate various aspects of the construction process.
What You'll Do
- Manage project buy-out processes, including creating bid packages, collaborating with procurement to issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), drafting contracts and Scopes of Work, and generating Work Orders
- Oversee and direct electrical components of Data Center construction projects to ensure completion according to specifications, on schedule, and within budget
- Coordinate with project superintendents to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines
- Collaborate with the design team, architects, and engineers to review plans, specifications, and drawings; expedite resolutions to design conflicts while coordinating the best path forward
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports
- Ensure all electrical installations and systems meet or exceed quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices; supervise inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems; manage commissioning processes, including system testing, outage coordination, troubleshooting, and final client handover; deliver comprehensive documentation such as as-built drawings, training materials, and operation manuals
- Monitor site execution and inspections to confirm work adheres to safety guidelines and quality standards
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience managing construction projects in large manufacturing or industrial environments, specifically involving electrical, mechanical, and network systems
- Strong understanding of electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning for mission-critical environments, including power distribution, backup power systems (UPS), substations, and lighting
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, MS Project, P6) and other analytical/design tools such as Excel and AutoCAD
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E certifications preferred
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA) and industry best practices for data center electrical systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of overcoming challenges on complex projects
