Deltek is seeking an experienced Senior Data Strategist to own and operate the intake, prioritization, and ongoing management of work across the Enterprise Data & Intelligence (EDI) organization. This role serves as the operational backbone for enterprise data, analytics, platform, and strategy initiatives-ensuring demand is clearly defined, consistently evaluated, prioritized, and executed with discipline and transparency.

The ideal candidate brings strong operational excellence, analytical thinking, and AI-enabled practices to continuously improve workflows from request to delivery. This role partners closely with business-facing Data & Analytics Business Partners, delivery teams, and leadership to maintain backlog health, capacity alignment, and data-driven decision-making across the portfolio.

Position Responsibilities

The Senior Data Strategist, Operations Portfolio is responsible for owning and evolving the enterprise data and analytics intake and prioritization framework for all EDI initiatives. This role ensures standardized business requirements, facilitates prioritization cycles, and maintains consistent evaluation of demand based on strategic value, enterprise impact, urgency, risk, and complexity. The strategist serves as the primary operational point of contact for intake submissions, leveraging AI-enabled checks and metadata enrichment to improve intake quality. The position leads backlog health and flow management, drives cross-functional alignment, and enables operational management of work management tools, ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency across the portfolio.Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously evolve the enterprise data and analytics intake and prioritization framework for EDI initiatives.
  • Define and enforce standardized intake business requirements; facilitate prioritization cycles and portfolio reviews.
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for intake submissions, partnering with requestors and Business Partner Leads.
  • Leverage AI-enabled checks and metadata enrichment to improve intake quality.
  • Lead ongoing backlog health across data, analytics, and platform workstreams, including triage, refinement, sequencing, and dependency management.
  • Monitor flow metrics such as throughput, cycle time, aging, and bottlenecks; proactively surface risks and readiness gaps.
  • Establish the backlog as the single source of truth for EDI work; reinforce backlog-driven execution norms.
  • Partner with delivery teams and data platform leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment and consistent operating rhythms.
  • Own provisioning and operational management of work management and intake tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira/Azure DevOps, Smartsheet).
  • Act as subject matter expert for backlog health, flow, and capacity metrics; partner with Data Quality Operations for accurate enterprise reporting.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership on portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and strategic trade-offs.
  • Use analytics and AI-enabled forecasting to identify scenarios, risks, dependencies, and capacity constraints.
  • Identify portfolio themes and opportunities to improve efficiency and enterprise impact.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with work management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Smartsheet, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with backlog management and agile/lean delivery practices.
  • Experience managing intake, governance, or prioritization frameworks.
  • Experience engaging with resources globally.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to engage effectively with business and technical resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with AI and automation.
  • Background working with data analytics.
  • Experience in technical and/or business operations, or technical PMO
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience with enterprise intake and prioritization frameworks.
  • Proven track record in elevating cross-functional collaboration and operational rigor.
  • Experience advocating for upstream clarity and downstream readiness.
  • Demonstrated success in driving AI-enabled workflow enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise reporting and data quality operations.

Compensation Info

The U.S. salary range for this position is $72,000.00-$127,000.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
