Director, Analytics & Reporting

The Director of Analytics & Reporting is the visionary lead for our data storytelling. This leader is accountable for the high-stakes evolution of our reporting culture-moving the organization away from manual, Excel-based manipulation toward a sophisticated, automated Tableau ecosystem. You will serve as the bridge between raw data and executive action, challenging the status quo and redefining how DaVita visualizes and acts upon Revenue Cycle performance.

What Will You Do?

As the Director of Analytics & Reporting you will lead a team of analysts through a technical and cultural transformation. You will move the needle from "descriptive reporting" to "diagnostic insight," ensuring our analytics capabilities scale alongside the business. You will partner closely with our Data Engineering and Platform teams to ensure our data architecture supports world-class visualization and measurable operational excellence.

Essential Functions:

  • Visual Transformation & Strategy: Lead the end-to-end migration of legacy reporting into dynamic, high-impact Tableau dashboards. You will define the "UX of Data" for ROPS, ensuring that complex financial metrics are intuitive, actionable, and automated.

  • The "Insight" Evolution: Shift the team's output from "what happened" to "why it happened." You will challenge leadership's thinking by presenting deep-dive analytics that identify revenue leakage, predict cash flow trends, and uncover operational bottlenecks hidden in legacy spreadsheets.

  • Team Modernization & Upskilling: Transition the existing analyst team from heavy data processing to becoming Data Storytellers. You will be responsible for elevating the technical ceiling of the team, fostering fluency in SQL and advanced Tableau design.

  • Strategic Technical Partnership: Act as the primary "translator" between the business and our Data Management and Data Product teams. While you don't own the warehouse, you must possess the technical literacy to influence the BigQuery roadmap and ensure the back-end architecture supports elite-level front-end reporting.

  • Change Management & Adoption: Drive the "last mile" of analytics. It isn't enough to build a dashboard; you must ensure the business changes its behavior. You will lead the efforts to embed new analytical tools into the fabric of daily revenue operations, ensuring high user adoption and measurable ROI.

  • Leadership & Team Development: Builds and coaches a multi-tiered team of Managers and Analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, belonging, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Partnership & Communication: Serves as a trusted analytics advisor for senior-level stakeholders, synthesizing complex analysis into concise, "executive-ready" narratives.

Other Duties:

  • Champions the DaVita Mission & Values, creating an inclusive environment where teammates collaborate, drive results, and feel safe to challenge the status quo.

  • Allocates team resources effectively to balance the delivery of core reporting needs with strategic transformation projects.

  • Partners with other ROPS teams to provide data-driven recommendations and strategic thought leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Visualization Expert: Expert-level mastery of the Tableau ecosystem. You should have a portfolio or a track record of building sophisticated, narrative-driven dashboards that drive executive decision-making.

  • The Transformation Mindset: 8-10+ years of experience, with a proven history of leading an organization through a Manual-to-Automated reporting migration. You know how to sunset legacy processes without disrupting the business.

  • Leadership of Leaders: 5+ years of experience leading Managers and Senior Managers. You know how to coach high-level talent to think critically and move beyond simple data delivery.

  • RCM & Financial Acumen: Deep experience in Revenue Cycle Management or Healthcare Finance. You understand the nuances of claims, denials, and yield, and you know how to visualize these concepts for maximum impact. (preferred)

  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency in SQL and a strong conceptual understanding of cloud data environments (e.g., BigQuery). You speak the language well enough to remove roadblocks and advocate for the team's data needs.

  • Travel Requirement: typical travel is 5-10%; up to 25% travel may be required.
