Position Summary

The Specialist, Engineering Services (Electrician) is a skilled electrical professional responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems and associated equipment in support of reliable, safe, and efficient facility operations. This role aligns with JLL's commitment to operational excellence, safety, and client satisfaction by ensuring electrical systems meet regulatory requirements, manufacturer specifications, and client standards.

The Specialist works independently or as part of a multi-skilled engineering team, supports planned maintenance and reactive work, and demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other engineering or maintenance disciplines when required to meet business and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including Power distribution systems Lighting systems and controls Motor controls, starters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) Panels, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing instruments, drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.

  • Install, modify, or repair electrical infrastructure in accordance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and local codes.

  • Support commissioning, upgrades, and capital improvement projects as assigned.

  • Ensure reliability and uptime of electrical systems supporting building infrastructure and mission-critical operations.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain strict adherence to JLL safety policies, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and all applicable regulations.

  • Conduct work safely in energized and de-energized environments when authorized.

  • Participate in safety training, audits, and incident prevention initiatives.

  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents per JLL procedures.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately complete work orders, inspections, PM records, and corrective maintenance reports using the CMMS.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for electrical systems, including one-line diagrams and equipment records.

  • Provide clear communication regarding system status, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.

Teamwork & Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with Engineering Services, Facility Management, vendors, and contractors to ensure service delivery expectations are met.

  • Provide assistance in other engineering and maintenance disciplines as needed to support facility operations, emergency response, and workload balancing, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

  • Support after-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage as required by operational needs.

  • Assist with training, mentoring, or guidance for junior technicians or team members as appropriate.

Client & Service Excellence

  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach consistent with JLL service standards.

  • Respond promptly and effectively to client requests, service calls, and operational priorities.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and reliability enhancements.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial, industrial, or facility electrical maintenance.

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical theory, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, etc.).

  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) preferred.

Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License (state or locally recognized) preferred.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety training preferred.

  • Additional certifications (BAS, controls, power quality, or critical environment systems) are a plus.

Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work from ladders, lifts, and platforms.

  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, rooftops, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call rotations as required.

Reporting Relationship
  • Reports to: Engineering Manager / Electrical Foreman / Chief Engineer (site dependent)

  • Works closely with Engineering Services teams, Facilities Management, and approved subcontractors.
