Zayo is seeking a Vice President of Assurance Operations to lead the vision and strategy for the evolution of change management, emergency restoration, and activations within our Networks & Technology (N & T) organization. This position will drive continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to delivering unparalleled service excellence; interfacing as needed on strategic customer accounts.

*We're open to this position working in a hybrid capacity at our Denver, CO headquarters (1401 Wyknoop).

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Visionary Direction:

  • Lead a team of change management, activation and engineering operations professionals, elevating operations excellence and focus on quality assurance and accountability across in-house and outsourced teams to deliver a superior customer experience.

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the Network Assurance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring that team members have the skills and resources needed to excel in their roles.

  • Define vision aligned with Zayo's corporate strategy and growth objectives.

Performance Oversight & Executive Reporting:

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess service quality and customer satisfaction levels.

  • Establish quality standards and processes to continuously improve service delivery and meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs).

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership Communication:

  • Accountable for directing operations analytics and overall Service Assurance strategy to deliver the most efficient and effective network operations focused on a superior customer experience.

Continuous Innovation & Organizational Growth:

  • Streamline workflows and processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Leverage automation and innovative technologies to optimize resource utilization and enhance network assurance capabilities.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service assurance processes, automation, and customer experience for change management, activation and provisioning processes.

  • Design and own the change management process.

  • Design and own the disaster recovery process.

Qualifications:

Problem Solving & Innovation:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive efficiencies and process optimization in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experienced in Quality Assurance and Control, KPIs andaccountability.

Leadership and Influence:

  • Ability to build consensus and influence decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams, manage senior stakeholders, and influence executive decision-making.

  • Mastery in presenting complex information to executives and stakeholders at all levels.

Business Process Effectiveness:

  • Expert in ITIL processes and change management best practices.

  • Strong working knowledge of user and system interactions to reduce operational impacts and improve overall success of achieving desired business outcomes.

  • Strong working knowledge of fiber optic construction, splicing, testing, and OSP standards, with a deep understanding of OSP network design principles, including fiber-optic cabling, pole-line construction, conduit systems, and field implementation.

  • Experience developing and running disaster recovery playbooks during real events and drills.

Education & Experience:

Education:

  • Master's degree in engineering or related technical experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience, required. Advanced knowledge and leadership skills can substitute for formal education.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in telecommunications operations, with a proven track record of success in leadership and management roles.

  • Strong understanding of the telecommunications industry, including network infrastructure, technology, and regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization, with customers and vendors.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Promotes and evangelizes a culture of excellence, data driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.

  • Strong understanding of Finance Management principles.

  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization, from front-line field and NOC personnel to executive levels.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing large budgets tied directly to revenue outcomes.

  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments while driving urgency, clarity, and alignment. Blent of creative vision and analytical rigor with the ability to translate ideas into actionable strategies.

Preferred Certifications:

  • ITIL

  • Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt) or similar process improvement certifications

Estimated base salary range: $225,000 - $250,000 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
