Job Description General Responsibilities: Conduct on-site field sampling both locally and remotely, and for variable duration (1-5 days), depending on project needs. Collect field data and perform data management and QAQC. Prepare applicable technical documents including proposals, reports and regulatory agency correspondence under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Subject Matter Expert. Typically, reports are drafted to identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and minimization strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Projects may include threatened and endangered species habitat assessments, presence/absence surveys, Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) and Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA) surveys, aquatic surveys for freshwater mussels and fish (including Aquatic Resource Relocations), wildlife inventories, wetland delineations, and Environmental Resource Inventories (ERIs). Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects, particularly in regard to robust and defensible recording of field data. Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments. Assist in the collection and analysis of data from field sampling, reports, maps, and drawings, to evaluate, plan and permit projects. Draft written proposals to clients for small projects and may assist with portions of proposals on larger projects. May serve as team member and participate in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks. Applicant should be comfortable and/or willing to work outdoors and within atypical survey environments (e.g., aquatic surveys within wade-able portions of a stream). Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years' related experience. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history. Certification in field of expertise required. Willingness to travel (60%).
