Position Overview

Netsmart is seeking a strategic, forward thinking leader to serve as a Team Lead and Events Manager, guiding a high performing team in delivering exceptional experiences that drive business growth and deepen client engagement. This highly visible role offers strong executive support and the opportunity to shape experiences that influence sales and strengthen partnerships.

In this role, you will lead and develop a team of two associates, providing mentorship, coaching, and direction in a fast paced, high impact environment. You will cultivate a collaborative culture grounded in accountability, excellence, and continuous growth. Executive presence is essential as you partner closely with senior leaders to align event strategy with organizational priorities and ensure the successful execution of our strategic trade shows.

You and the team will oversee more than 150 trade shows annually, including the exhibit floor at our flagship user conference, CONNECTIONS. This position will have responsibility managing budgets, logistics, vendor relationships, and ongoing process improvement to deliver consistently high quality experiences.

Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and manage comprehensive tradeshow programs that deliver high impact, business aligned results.

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of more than 150 annual tradeshows, including inventory management, partner coordination, and evaluation of organizational memberships to support long term growth.

  • Manage all planning and operational components of the exhibit hall at the annual user conference, including backend logistics, vendor contracting, catering, room layout and setup, and cross functional coordination to deliver a high quality attendee experience.

  • Build, manage, and strengthen vendor partnerships to ensure seamless and successful execution of all tradeshows.

  • Oversee full project management for each event, including timelines, work back schedules, budgets, deliverables, and task execution, while ensuring clear and consistent communication with partners and stakeholders.

People Leadership & Program Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of two associates, fostering a collaborative, high performing culture built on accountability, growth, and professional development.

  • Demonstrate strong executive presence while partnering with senior leaders to align event strategy with organizational priorities and drive meaningful business outcomes.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance on program objectives, performance expectations, and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure successful delivery of program milestones and establish scalable business processes that support strategic goals.

  • Monitor program performance against defined KPIs and implement data driven improvements to enhance effectiveness and results.

  • Champion process and program optimization initiatives to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and strengthen operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to work onsite in Overland Park, KS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 6 years of experience with program development or program management

  • At least 4 years of experience managing financial budgets and/or accounting tasks

  • Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently

  • Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals

  • Ability to travel 30% of time
