Job Overview:

The Physician Services Epic Charge Capture Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely entry, correction, and validation of charges within the Epic system for physician services, This role focuses on managing manual charge entry exceptions, charge voids, and corrections, as well as monitoring and resolving errors in Haiku/Canto mobile charge capture workflows, The analyst will collaborate with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle teams to resolve manual charge entry errors and address missing or inaccurate data elements that impact downstream billing and revenue integrity.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate degree in healthcare administration, Health Information Management, or related work experience required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in revenue cycle, charge capture, or billing within an Epic environment required.
  • Strong understanding of Epic charge capture workflows, charge entry, and billing requirements.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience with physician services billing and mobile charge capture tools (Haiku/Canto) preferred.
  • Certification in relevant module(s) (e,g,, Epic Professional Billing) preferred.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification a plus.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time, hourly position- 37.5 hours a week
  • Travel to Oceanport, NJ as needed
  • Some travel may be required for vendor oversight or on-site collaboration.

Essential Functions:

  • Proficiency in work queue (WQ) management and error resolution.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across clinical, billing, and IT teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks, operate tools and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Manual Charge Entry:

  • Accurately enter manual charges for exceptions and special circumstances not processed through standard system workflows.
  • Manage manual charge changes (adds/changes/voids) that fall outside of system workflows and ensure accurate charge capture

Data Collection & Error Correction for Provider Mobile Charging:

  • Proactively identify and resolve errors in Haiku/Canto charge capture workflows, ensuring mobile charge entry data accuracy.
  • Collect required data and build relationships with registration, clinical and operational teams to ensure complete and accurate registration for Haiku/Canto charges.
  • Manage errors related to missing or incomplete data elements (e,g,, bill area, location codes) that impact charge processing and billing.

Charge Work Queue (WQ) Management:

  • Monitor and resolve manual charge entry related errors because of missing or incorrectly captured charge data.
  • Collaborate with Clinicians, Operations, Revenue Integrity, IT, and Billing teams to streamline WQ workflows and reduce recurring errors.

Data Accuracy & Quality Assurance:

  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring charge capture errors and recommend workflow improvements.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives for charge capture accuracy and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Provide guidance and training to clinical and operational teams on best practices for accurate charge capture in Epic, including Haiku/Canto workflows.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for charge capture workflows, charge entry error resolution, and related Epic WQs.

Performance Metrics:

  • Accuracy rate of manual charge entry and corrections.
  • Timely resolution of charge related WQs and error corrections.
  • Reduction in recurring charge capture errors across Haiku/Canto workflows.
  • Positive feedback from revenue cycle and clinical teams regarding support and issue resolution.
  • Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service.
  • Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Listens and communicates effectively
