Supply Chain Management in healthcare should ensure complete end-to-end visibility of information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers. Demand management in supply chain helps healthcare organizations gather valuable insight, agility, and improve the ability to plan and forecast while increasing visibility into customer demands. The Demand Management Coordinator uses analytical data to effectively estimate future product demands. Responsibilities include working within various departments of the organization to perform forecasting, inventory level alignment based on demands, material planning, and procurement forecasting. To support best practice and cost affective ordering. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager Demand Management and interacts with executive and senior leadership, department directors, managers, outside business customers, and internal customers (clinical and physician staff) across the Health System. This position is responsible for identifying and implementing industry best practices in demand management in support of YNHHS efforts to be considered a best-in-class class supply chain organization both within and outside the health care industry. External contact includes Group Purchasing Organization, consultants, and vendors.

Supply-chain demand management involves work within various departments of the organization to perform forecasting, inventory level alignment based on demands, material planning, and procurement forecasting. To support best practice and cost affective ordering. Demand Management Coordinator responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for working with management, inventory, analytics and other supply chain teams in demand planning operations.
  • Identify demand forecast risks and develop mitigation plans through PAR level adjustment and scouring updates.
  • Develop demand plan based on Corporate Supply Chain inventory trends and demand patterns.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot demand related issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop routine and ad-hoc demand related reports for management and other departments in Corporate Supply Chain.
  • Schedule review meetings with Sr. Manager Demand Management to report inventory and process issues related to interruptions in the supply flow.
  • Work with Analytics to develop and maintain demand planning data sources, processes and related reports to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Work with inventory team to monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Work with Sr. Manager Demand Management in contingency and emergency planning forecasts.
  • Supports executive Supply Chain leadership in annual budgeting planning, development of strategic goals/ KPIs. Monitors performance to goals, budget and other strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring maximum value that supports optimization of YNHHS trade partners including its GPO, manufacturers and distributors across all System entities.
  • Serves in the emergency management HICS as the site logistician and supply chain subject matter expert.
  • To monitor and coordinate the use of technology to support and meet the organization supply needs.
  • Monitor tiger teams and associated processes to assure effective management and improvement over the supply chain processes and minimizing disruption

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in analytics, finance, logistics or supply chain management or related field or equivalent work experience along with continuous improvement experience.

EXPERIENCE

Demand Management leader. Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain analytics and demand management. Five (5) years experience in leadership roles showing progressively increasing responsibility for coordination with staff. Experience in supply chain continuous improvement and change management are vital to this role. Experience in demand management, continuous improvement experience and training, and experience developing and utilizing metrics and management techniques to drive improvement. This manager must have experience integrating activities into key supply-chain processes.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Comprehensive understanding of logistical clinical site management- Qualifications include previous experience in inventory or production planning, as well as knowledge of process improvement and future fulfillment strategies. Because this position develops future inventory planning, marketing and economic knowledge is also required to properly plan needed inventory levels. Demonstrates high degree of analytical and operational skills. Continuous Improvement skills - will deploy and sustain lean and continuous improvement programs, working in conjunction with supply chain logistics leaders to identify areas of demand management where the deployment of continuous improvement methodologies will improve key performance indicators. Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of organization to both internal and external customers. Experienced in facilitating multi-disciplinary groups. Good team building and problem analysis and resolution skills. Self-motivated with good time management skills. Must be goal oriented and flexible. Knowledgeable of technical aspects of Logistical and supply chain operations in a healthcare environment. Able to effectively use MS office products and SmartSheet. Understands the principles of high reliability operations and performance improvement.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Must be able to travel back and forth between campuses and visit off sites as needed. Ability to move through an ever expanding campus, primarily on foot.
