The Tooling, Process & Training team is responsible for developing the hardware and processes used during service and commissioning. This talented person will push the industry forward by developing our Mobile Powerwall Unit Program. Their role will be to: develop external partnerships to secure demand forecasting, act as a technical consultant for electrical/mechanical needs on the ground, and during disaster responses by field integration point of contact.
What You'll Do
- Expanded Nonprofit Network: Grow nonprofit contacts from fewer than 10 to 50+ broadening outreach and partnership opportunities
- Strengthen Partnerships: Build strategic partnerships with Team Rubicon, SpaceX, and disaster relief organizations for coordinated response deployments
- Source Sustainable Materials: Collaborate internally to identify and procure scrap PV parts for recycling, integrating them into the program to promote environmental sustainability
- Support Field Operations: Provided hands-on assistance with deployments, active operations, and installations to ensure seamless execution and minimal downtime
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Compliance: Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and EHS to develop bailment contracts and ensure regulatory compliance for deployments
- Lead Housing MPU Development: Spearhead the creation of housing solutions for MPUs across multiple Tesla warehouses, reducing commissioning times and improving operational efficiency
- Serve as Sales Engineer: Act as a technical advisor on system sizing, use case evaluations, and customized training for external technical staff, driving adoption and customer success
What You'll Bring
- Hands-on, resourceful problem-solving skills with a scrappy, innovative approach, fueled by a deep passion for renewables, microgrids, and diesel generator replacement technologies
- Strong external training capabilities, leveraging firsthand experience with Tesla products and tools to impart technical knowledge effectively to many different teams
- Proven ability to make on-site decisions under dynamic conditions, adapting to unforeseen customer variables such as site layouts, electrical load distributions, and existing circuit protections
- Expertise in creating clear, safe, and efficient documentation tailored for first-time users, ensuring crisp, actionable guidance that minimizes risks and maximizes productivity
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with engineers and organization leaders, especially when discussing our products and deployment expectations
- Leadership in achieving world-class build quality for multiple electromechanical assemblies and workspaces, driving precision, efficiency, and excellence in execution
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 25% of the time) to commissioning sites, deployments, and Gigafactories, embracing a flexible and global operational mindset

Expected Compensation
$76,000 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
