SUMMARY:
Research Assistant to assist with a clinical research study. The overall objective of this study is to test a new clinical model to engage and retain Latin X/ Hispanic (L/H) youth and their caregivers in culturally centered, evidence based treatment (EBT) for the prevention and treatment of suicidal behaviors(SB). The Socio- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (SCBT-SB) is an affirmative and culturally relevant treatment for depressive symptoms (DS) and suicide attempts(SA) for (L/H) youth, including LGBTQ+. The new clinical model's purposed here consists of new addition of community health workers (CHWs) as part of the clinical team serving this high-risk population of their family. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interview participants and families to gather information and obtain informed consent; maintenance of study records and tracking of study participants. Data entry, reporting, and assistance with maintenance of database. Provide assistance with recruitment efforts. There are opportunities to participate in data analysis, submit poster presentations to conferences, and assist in preparation of manuscripts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, behavioral sciences, or related field. Bilingual (Spanish &English) Minimum 1-2 years of research experience (preferably in a clinical research setting) with ethnic minority groups and/or the LGBTQ community. Courses in research methodologies, statistics, and multicultural perspective preferred. Experience with computer-based data entry and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent organizational skills. Occasional evening and weekend work required for visits at participants home for follow up assessments. Pay Range: $41,537.60-$68,556.80
