Job Description This role is a hands-on opportunity to work in the field supporting customer equipment through installation, repair, and preventative maintenance. You will travel to customer sites, ensuring equipment reliability and delivering highquality service that drives customer satisfaction and longterm success. Key Responsibilities * Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on customer equipment * Follow all company policies and procedures, including (but not limited to) warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 requirements * Operate material handling equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations * Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment * Maintain accurate performance and service records * Interact effectively with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally * Develop and deliver training on the safe operation of equipment, demonstrating proper techniques to team members and customers * Act as a key communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service delivery * Provide the highest possible level of service to ensure customer satisfaction * Generate substantial annual revenues * Work independently without direct supervision * Perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals * Complete all required compliance and jobspecific training * Replace defective parts, reassemble and repair batteries and related equipment, and install new equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications * Provide onsite technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment * Complete timely reporting of all activities, including service reports, expense reports, quality alerts, and maintenance reports * Maintain direct responsibility for company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment Required Skills * Cable * Cat6 * Cat5 * Cabling * Cable installation * Punchdown * Install * Cable puller * Structured cabling * Cable technician experience * Telecommunications * Low voltage * Rack and stack * Coax * Wire and cable Additional Skills & Qualifications * Certificate or diploma in Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical, or related field (location dependent) * Basic electrical knowledge * Ability to use test equipment and read schematics * Handson job experience * Experience should be substantially in an electricalrelated field where applicable General Job Requirements * Ability and willingness to travel overnight * Ability and willingness to operate a forklift * Comfort working in a plant or warehouse environment with varying conditions * Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch * Ability to differentiate colors * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kilos) on a daily, continuous basis; heavier lifting will be assisted mechanically or by another employee * Ability to stand for extended periods of time * Commitment to wearing required personal protective equipment at all times * Ability and willingness to be on call Experience Level * Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of East Syracuse, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
