About the Opportunity

Do you love great retail experiences and ever wonder what goes into bringing a store concept to life?

Aquent is partnering with a leading multi-brand specialty retailer in the home furnishings space to add a Store Design & Construction Coordinator to their Store Development team. This is the group responsible for every physical retail location the company operates, from new store openings and remodels to relocations and fixture rollouts.

The team is managing a high volume of projects across multiple locations and brands. They need someone who can keep things organized and moving across several workstreams at once.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys managing details, collaborating across teams, and taking ownership of projects from planning through execution.

What You'll Do

Think of this role as the project air traffic controller. You are not designing the stores or managing construction directly, but you are making sure everyone else can.

  • Track project timelines, milestones, updates, and approvals across multiple active store projects
  • Maintain and organize project documentation including floor plans, drawings, and design files
  • Support permit and approval processes by tracking status and coordinating documents
  • Prepare presentations and materials for leadership reviews
  • Monitor construction progress and flag delays or risks before they become problems
  • Coordinate communication across Design, Construction, and Real Estate so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Support administrative work including invoices, scheduling, and basic budget tracking

Who You'll Work With

This is a highly cross-functional role. On any given day you may partner with:

  • Design Managers
  • Construction Managers
  • Corporate Real Estate
  • Store Operations
  • External vendors including architects and general contractors

What You'll Bring

Required

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in project coordination, project support, administrative coordination, retail operations, or design/construction support
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple deadlines and priorities at the same time
  • Strong organizational skills with a real system behind them, not just good intentions
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication across different types of teams
  • A proactive, self-starter approach. You follow up without being asked
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Genuine interest in retail environments, customer experience, and the impact stores have on a brand

Nice to Have

  • Any exposure to store development, retail buildouts, facilities, or architecture, including internships
  • Familiarity with construction drawings or design development
  • Experience tracking permits or approvals
  • Retail operations or visual merchandising background
  • Coordination with landlords, vendors, or outside consultants
  • SharePoint or another document management system
  • Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for compiling presentation materials
