What You'll Do

  • Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite policies
  • Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard family-centric culture
  • Leads estimating staff in responding to bid specifications, writing scope of work, developing cost estimates, predicting the duration of the project, including contingencies
  • Estimates the amount and type of material required to deliver the bid specification
  • Provides complete project engineering and estimating labor
  • Assists the sales organization by attending pre-bid meeting for use in the development of accurate cost estimates
  • Ensures timely completion of and meets bid schedules and deadlines
  • Acts as liaison between sales, project management and operations to effectively transition projects and streamline communications
  • Recommends vendors and materials to obtain best solution, most competitive price, and proper lead-times
  • Reads and understand blueprints
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
  • Obtain knowledge on other technologies, as directed by customer demand
  • Contribute to product selection research, configuration standards, and best practices
  • Help educate our sales teams on our products and services
  • Provide coaching, development and guidance to direct reports and/or team members, encouraging and guiding them to remain current with emerging technologies
  • The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics and/or the customer(s)


What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors Degree is preferred
  • RCDD is preferred
  • Knowledge of general building codes and BICSI Standards
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years experience estimating large scale (1M+) Data Center ISP/OSP construction
  • Minimum of Three (3) years experience managing team of estimators or equivalent Low-Voltage engineering functions
  • Proven Leadership aptitude, with the ability to manage, train, mentor and develop team growth
  • Defining SOPs to help ensure smooth communication and collaboration with Sales and Operations
  • Estimating Structured cabling projects for Hyperscale clients, Co-Location Partners and all Data Center related opportunities
  • Auto CAD / Bluebeam experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Division-27, ISP and OPS standards
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.), MS Project and Auto CAD
  • Must have the proven ability to design, engineer, estimate and develop a written and graphic representation of the company's proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the company
  • Ability to understand and effectively quote every aspect of the structured cabling system including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and interconnections, and testing
  • Proficient with reading and understanding blueprints of building floor plans and construction designs
  • Knowledge of data infrastructure industry including technology, quality and safety standards
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Knowledge of the PMBOK Guides and Standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
  • Effective performance management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role requires sitting, use of hands and arms, verbal communication, and occasional physical movement such as stooping or kneeling. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight and confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
