The Seating Specialist supports internal and external customer seating product inquiries. Accountable for being the seating knowledge leader, this person works closely with product management, customer care, engineering, production, system setup and specification teams to find answers to customer inquiries. Accountable for maintaining and updating sales tools and documentation and ensuring alignment of our systems.

PRIMARY GOALS:

1) An information resource for seating inquiries from field sales, customers, customer service, design and contracts.

2) Manage, store and organize seating information for ease of recall, reporting and sharing.

3) Consolidate information and coordinate details and responses for warranty claims.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate basic warranty requests ensuring relevant information is collected, then distributed
  • Identifies inconsistencies (tools, documents, system, etc.) and drives resolutions.
  • Maintains approved Carded textile list to ensure spec tools are aligned.
  • Resolves textile approval/condition code inconsistencies and inquiries.
  • Manages minor price list edits and updates with Marketing.
  • Develops, reviews and creates assessment reports for product option sales (finishes, features, etc.) providing key market insights for VP and Directors of Seating.
  • Assists VP Seating and Dir. Of Seating Sales with market research and product specific evaluation initiatives.
  • Provides technical detail investigations and creates and maintains tools to share and find details for customer inquiries, bids and contract responses.
  • Create, update or review PMC documents such as pricelist drafts, spec sheet edits, brochure edits, model logic documentation, upcharge lists, approved textile lists and graded textile upcharges
  • Provides spec sheet reviews for consistency, accuracy and completeness
  • Perform additional tasks as business needs require

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or military equivalent.
  • The qualified candidate is a detail oriented, inquisitive, problem solver who thrives on creating order and process.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Independent, self-starter with ability to work with a wide range of people/positions.
  • Some product manufacturing and/or engineering knowledge is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software and tools currently used in Global Furniture Group.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Actual base pay offered will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Global, an individual may not be hired at the high end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. (If a bonus or commissions see below for additional sentence).

BONUS/COMMISSIONS

This position is also eligible for a performance-based bonus based on individual/department goals as well as overall company performance.
