Overview
Under the direction of the Senior Finance Business Partner, Executive Director of Strategic Finance, Finance Director, or designee, the Financial Analyst provides financial support to ForHealth Consulting business units. The Financial Analyst conducts financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to facilitate decision-making by Finance and Business Unit leadership. This is an open-rank posting (there are 3 levels of Financial Analyst) - candidates will be hired into the level commensurate with their experience.
Responsibilities
Financial Analyst I:
Assist in gathering, organizing, and maintaining financial data for analysis and reporting.
- Support the preparation of routine financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Assist in tracking expenses, revenue, and budget performance for assigned programs or projects.
- Perform basic financial analysis, including variance analysis and trend tracking under supervision.
- Support data entry and validation within financial systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in preparing journal entries, invoice packages, and supporting documentation.
- Participate in the preparation of dashboards and reporting tools.
- Conduct data pulls using spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools to support analysis.
- Assist in reconciling financial data and identifying discrepancies for review.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and organizational financial policies and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and provide support on financial projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and reporting accuracy.
- Perform other duties as required.
Financial Analyst II:
Duties noted above plus:
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing financial accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Support the Finance leadership team in providing market and margin analysis, pricing models, and cost development support services.
- Analyze financial information using queries, spreadsheets, databases, and other reporting tools for trend analysis, forecasting, and financial ratios.
- Analyze trends, make financial projections, and assess financial risk.
- Produce financial reports for management.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of program data and perform computations with a high degree of independence.
- Collect, extract, analyze, and manage financial information.
- Ensure accuracy of reports by reviewing data and resolving discrepancies internally for assigned reports.
- Prepare reports and projections based on financial data, consolidating for leadership team, including at the project/contract level.
- Create and submit journal entries and reports. Track and analyze revenue data.
- Prepare client invoice packages as necessary.
- Participate in project meetings related to financial analysis, data analysis, and management.
- Support internal dashboards and reporting, including the review of dashboards created by other team members.
- Review and support finance group team members as needed.
- Review and monitor compliance with federal and state regulations.
Senior Financial Analyst:
Duties noted above plus:
- Support larger Business Units, with responsibility for the size of revenue and margin controlled.
- Serve as Finance Business Partner to a specific line of business within the Business Unit.
- Perform work with an increased level of independence.
- Participate in ForHealth Consulting Enterprise programs and projects at an increased level.
- Provide mentorship to Financial Analysts.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Financial Analyst I
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 0-4 years of experience in a financial, accounting, or related analytical role
- Basic understanding of financial principles, reporting, and data analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (basic formulas, data organization)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and organize data accurately
- Ability to follow established processes and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide high quality customer service
Financial Analyst II
Requirements noted for FA I plus:
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a financial related position
- Expertise to acquire, manage, and analyze financial documents and results
- Ability to work with staff at various levels to ensure effective operations and maintain accurate records, with discretion in handling confidential information
- Demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Microsoft Access and Excel - including modeling, macros, and complex formulas)
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Experience with pricing models and business proposals
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle details, multi-task, and prioritize work
- High level of diplomacy and discretion
Senior Financial Analyst
Requirements noted for FA II plus:
- 8-10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a financial related position
