Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our Key Bank communities. The Regional Retail Leader (RRL) is responsible for leading the overall performance and environment for retail branches within a set geographic region. The RRL leads and directs regional management teams in consistent execution of the Branch Playbook, achieving profitability across multiple business priorities including, Pre-Provision Net Revenue, expense management, client experience, compliance and growth objectives for assigned Retail and Small Business Banking groups across multiple geographic markets in the Consumer Bank franchise. Executing on the consumer strategy, the RRL leads a disciplined approach to ensure financial wellness is delivered to clients and that the assigned regional teams operate with a culture of coaching and development. An integral member of the Community Bank leadership team in the designated region, the RRL works in partnership with Middle Market, Business Baking, Key Investment Services, Mortgage, Key at Work and Key Private Bank leadership to drive revenue results across a region of significant scope and span. Average position scope includes $200-800 MM in revenue, 500-1,100 FTE, 100-200 branches and $7-$22B in combined loans and deposits. Some Regions can exceed these averages based on density and historical market performance. Essential Functions
  • Leads a team of Area Sales Leaders (ARLs) and Market Retail Leaders (MRLs) to execute on our relationship model and deliver a differentiated client experience. Develops market strategies, enhancing sales effectiveness and productivity, and implements a disciplined, risk-focused sales culture.
  • Partners with Middle Market, Business Banking, Key Investment Services, Key Private Client, Mortgage and Private Banking leadership to develop and execute strategies to deliver higher returns, accelerate new client acquisition, drive client penetration, and enable greater competitive distinction across the markets.
  • Leads direct reports and aligned partners in development and execution of market strategies to deliver higher returns, accelerate new client acquisition, drive client penetration, and enable greater competitive distinction across the markets.
  • Leads the execution of a disciplined sales management culture through the MRLs and ARLs. Ensures sales processes are executed and effective coaching practices are in place. Integrates client trends and feedback to manage and improve the sales process, reinforcing a continuous improvement mindset in the sales team.
  • Fosters environment and processes that support cross line of business partnership and collaboration and ensures all sales generating activities are integrated so the team goes to market as One Key.
  • Accountable for managing sales performance and sales performance metrics - sets clear expectations. Diagnoses and addresses the root causes of performance gaps.
  • Creates and maintains a culture of operational effectiveness and risk management - Partners with risk leaders to ensure teams operate with the highest level of integrity and understands the accountability of the "First line of Defense".
  • Contributes thought leadership, best practices, market insights, and forward thinking to the execution tactics of their team to deliver exceptional client experience and business performance by being in the field observing and show coaching. Inspires and motivates teammates, bringing passion and a vision to Play with Confidence and that the team can help every client.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, creates and executes a proactive strategy to build a pipeline of talent by assessing and building Retail talent across the markets, including recruiting, employee skill development, career progression, goal setting, performance management, employee engagement and the delivery of a pay for performance culture. Proactively sources external talent across the markets. Promotes and manages the continued diversity of the Retail team in hiring, promoting, retaining and developing employees.

  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field (required)
  • Master's Degree in Business or related field (preferred)

Work Experience
  • 7+ years Demonstrated Retail banking leadership experience across multiple geographic areas; Has experienced unique market and performance demographics / complexities (required)
  • Proven track record driving a Consumer banking enterprise to high levels of achievement in a complex and intensely competitive and highly- regulated environment. (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, inspect, coach and champion a successful sales team. (required)
  • Strong financial and business acumen as demonstrated through leadership coaching, organizational strategies, and accountability to results. (required)
  • Operational/Risk management; full understanding and experience with First Line of Defense responsibilities and interdependencies with the Second Line of Defense (required)

Physical Demands
  • Consumer Retail Management - Ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients, frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent lifting of 1 - 10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Travel
  • Routine and frequent travel to include overnight stay.

Driving Requirements
  • May need to drive to multiple locations in a single day; ability to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $165,000.00 - $345,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
