Maintenance Mechanic - Plumbing

What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Mechanic with a focus on plumbing, your day centers on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing and water-based building systems critical to daily facility operations. You will support domestic water, sanitary systems, pumps, fixtures, and associated mechanical equipment while contributing to overall building reliability and compliance.

In addition to plumbing responsibilities, you will assist with general building maintenance including HVAC-related systems, boilers, compressors, lighting, and minor electrical work. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to emergency calls, complete service requests, and conduct inspections to uphold a clean, safe, and controlled environment within a pharmaceutical distribution and office setting.

We are looking for individuals who work well in team-based environments, communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders, manage changing priorities effectively, maintain high-quality workmanship, and respond calmly and efficiently to operational challenges.

What is your day to day?

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems, including domestic water systems, process and laboratory water systems, sanitary and storm sewer systems, sump pumps and grease traps

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace valves, piping, fixtures, regulators, pumps, and related components

  • Support building systems including HVAC hydronic systems (as related to plumbing), compressed air and utility piping systems

  • Respond promptly to service calls, alarms, and emergency situations

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals

  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation using a CMMS

  • Perform all work in accordance with SOPs, safety procedures, and applicable codes

  • Coordinate with vendors, engineers, and other skilled trades as required

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial building maintenance with a strong emphasis on plumbing systems

  • Demonstrated senior-level maintenance mechanic experience

  • Working knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical systems

  • Ability to complete background check

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, laboratory, or manufacturing facilities

  • Journeyman plumber license or equivalent certification

  • CMMS experience (Maximo, Archibus, or similar)

  • Working knowledge of mechanical or HVAC systems

Work Environment:

  • Pharmaceutical distribution center with office space

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 ft, and work in mechanical spaces

Location:

Onsite - New Albany, OH

Work Shift:

  • Week 1: Sunday - Tuesday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

  • Week 2: Sunday - Wednesday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

  • Competitive hourly rate: $32.00 - $38.00 + overtime opportunities
