JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Unlicensed Clinic Therapist
Location: Nashville, TN
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

As an Unlicensed Clinic Therapist, you will gain hands-on experience providing mental health counseling and substance use treatment in a supportive environment alongside a multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapy services to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals, develop and implement treatment plans, and maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation while delivering high-quality, client-centered care in both in-person and virtual settings. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individual therapy and behavioral health counseling to clients with mental health and substance use needs
* Build therapeutic relationships with clients to support engagement, trust, and long-term recovery outcomes
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop provisional diagnoses using DSM criteria
* Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on client needs and progress
* Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support mental health and substance use recovery
* Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, within required guidelines
* Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective care
* Respond to urgent client needs, including crisis situations, in a timely and professional manner
* Maintain communication with leadership regarding client care concerns or program impacts

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
* Master's degree required in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field
* License-eligible in the respective discipline preferred
* Applicants with a Master's degree in a related field must have at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in behavioral health coursework
* Required coursework includes clinical assessment, treatment planning, psychopathology, and DSM diagnosis within a practicum or internship setting
* Clinical experience required (may include practicum or internship experience)

Additional Qualifications:
* Strong clinical judgment and decision-making ability in a behavioral health setting
* Effective communication skills across written, verbal, in-person, and virtual formats
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to respond to client needs in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Physical Requirements
* Sitting for extended periods (approximately 90% of the workday)
* Standing intermittently throughout the day (approximately 10%)
* Occasional bending, squatting, and kneeling
* Occasional driving as needed for job responsibilities
* Occasional lifting associated with daily work activities
