Position Summary: The Community Center Director is responsible for leadership, oversight, development, and improvement of all Community Center programs, including supervision of staff and volunteers. Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise participants in all Community Center programs including scheduling and approving timecards for employees
- Plan, coordinate, promote, execute, evaluate, and participate in Community Center programs
- Development of the curriculum, recreation, crafts and other structured and unstructured activities
- Follow Safe from Harm guidelines
- Plan and attend special events related to the Community Center Programs
- Maintain accurate and up to date statistics for all programs and monthly reporting
- Supervise staff members and volunteers to ensure that the Corps Community Center is maintained in a reasonably presentable and safe condition
- Work alongside the Custodian to ensure that all janitorial and maintenance supplies are restocked as needed
- Provide backup support and assistance to other staff as needed
- Assist with the processing and distribution of correspondence, memos, and reports as needed
- Assist with maintaining various databases and generate any related correspondence
- Provide accurate reports to local groups and organizations as directed
- Provide support for seasonal administration including processing of
- Bell ringer applications
- Volunteer database entry
- Christmas driving
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education/Experience:
- High school diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- 1+ years' experience in working directly with children in a school and/or Christian environment
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Be able to drive a 12-passenger van or bus with a Chauffeurs
- Must have the ability to work with youth, homeless families and demonstrate acceptance of cultural, racial, and economic diversity.
- Maintain confidentiality
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
- Willingness to learn new software as needed
Certificates and Licenses:
- Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
- Must have and maintain a current valid chauffeur's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR); or ability to gain it within 60 days
