DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is looking to give life in an outpatient dialysis center. You can make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease.

If you haven't considered Nephrology before, read on as we think that you should. Healthcare experience is NOT required.

What you can expect:

  • A Condensed Schedule: Love having four days off a week? Our teammates typically work three 12-14 hour shifts/week.
  • Early Bird Hours: Shifts generally start bright and early between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM, meaning you get to finish your workday earlier than most!
  • Rotating Saturdays: The clinic operates Monday through Saturday. You will rotate Saturday shifts with the team, but you are always guaranteed Sundays off to rest and recharge.
  • Long-term patient relationships: Build meaningful relationships with patients and their families in an intimate outpatient setting.
  • A team that feels and functions like a family: PCTs are a central part of a small interdisciplinary team of clinicians. Work alongside and support nurses, dietitians, social workers, physicians, and the center manager.
  • Fun is one of our core values: Happier teammates = healthier patients.
  • Fast-paced: You will work with your head, heart, and hands each day to safely monitor and treat our patients.

What you'll do on the job:

  • Welcome patients into the treatment area; weigh them, take their temperature, and measure blood pressure pre- and post-dialysis.
  • Safely set up and monitor dialysis machines and reverse osmosis (RO) water systems.
  • Respond to visual and audible alarms and make necessary adjustments before, during, and after the dialysis treatment.
  • Collect patient data, monitor vascular accesses, and accurately document patient observations, seeking guidance from the charge nurse when needed.
  • Dismantle, clean, and disinfect dialysis machines and equipment after each treatment.

What We'll Provide: More than just pay, our DaVita Rewards package connects teammates to what matters most including:

  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out.
  • Support for you and your family: Family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access to Headspace, backup child and elder care, maternity/paternity leave, and more.
  • Paid training: DaVita offers all new dialysis teammates a robust, paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills. The training is a mix of classroom and hands-on clinical learning.
  • Opportunity for a career for a lifetime: DaVita is committed to providing robust development and experiences. Whether you choose to remain in a patient-facing role or grow into a nursing or leadership position, we can guide you on that journey.

Some details about this position:

  • You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work early mornings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • A desire to deliver care in an empathetic, compassionate way. You know, the way you'd want your own care to be.
  • Excellent communication skills to listen and interact with patients and teammates.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
  • High school diploma, general education development (GED) credential, or equivalent required.
