POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the nurse in Cardiac Stress testing includes professional patient care of the cardiac patient and performing procedures including exercise and pharmacological cardiac stress testing with and without nuclear imaging and echocardiography.

- Education/Licensure/Certification or credentials

Required:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Has maintained 20 continuing education hours over a two year period as required by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for licensure.
  • BLS, ACLS required.

Preferred:
  • PALS

- Skill/Experience/Competency
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a hospital based cardiac, critical care or emergency department setting.
  • Prior experience reading EKG's and previous stress testing experience preferred.
  • Computer proficiency .
  • EMR- EPIC- preferred
  • Documentation skills
  • Verbal communication

  • Health promotion and maintenance
  • Train department personnel.
