Job Purpose

In this role, you will lead a team of Material and Demand Planners responsible for ensuring the availability of materials required to support our Gas and Electric Operations teams in meeting customer demands and maintaining system reliability. The team collaborates closely with the operations, customer service, warehouse, standards, and procurement departments to forecast, evaluate inventory levels, and analyze demand and supply trends in order to proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage a team of Material Planners and Demand Planners to analyze demand data from operations, customer, existing inventory, procurement, and suppliers to identify trends, material risks or opportunities.
  • Lead Demand Planners to develop risk-mitigation strategies and to mitigate any imminent risks, using existing or new technologies for data-driven decisions.
  • Lead the team by using critical thinking and scenario analysis skills to identify gaps and opportunities within the existing and future supply chain management processes.
  • Identify signals from collaborative stakeholder and data-driven processes that could lead to operational and/or customer disruption and seek solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Develop, evaluate and report on inventory management strategies and associated KPIs.
  • Work closely with the Central Planning function to integrate strategies and improved ways of working.
  • Be solution-driven to resolve supply chain risks to the benefit of our customers.
  • Develop and execute operating and capital budgets which drive efficient/effective operations and enable the team's success.
  • Enhance team capabilities, strengthen leadership, and establish a reputable and efficient team presence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is required and an advanced degree (MBA) is preferred, with special consideration given to supply chain/logistics related education.
  • 5+ years knowledge and related experience in material planning, supply chain, and/or electric/gas operations.
  • 3+ years of people management experience required.
  • APICS/ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management) certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive results via collaboration, critical thinking and analysis as a supply chain manager or similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and demonstrated deep understanding of the issues impacting the inventory management, logistics/supply chain industry.
  • Demonstrated evidence of strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Significant experience with SAP and work management systems (Storms, Maximo).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience conducting root cause analyses.

Salary:

Upstate NY: $116,000.00 - $136,000.00 USD Annually
Downstate NY: $140,000.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annually
