Job Summary The Student Services Specialist, Sr. focuses on providing both direct student and Field of Interest (FOI) support: from advising students through a holistic caseload management approach via appts, proactive and responsive outreach, group advising, events, and the like; to collaborating with the Student Services Analyst on the planning, coordination, and facilitation of FOI campus relationships, projects, initiatives, events, trainings, and beyond. When/As needed, they may also share responsibility of more complex advising support tasks related to student and FOI processes. Essential Functions 30% - Holistic Academic Advising & Caseload Management
Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution B. Two (2) or more years of experience working in higher education C. Two (2) or more years of experience providing advising services in a college setting D. Two (2) or more years of experience using a student information system to complete student services processes such as enrollment and advising E. One (1) or more years of experience leading or directly assisting with student services projects and initiatives to address student challenges, retention, and completion F. One (1) or more years of experience facilitating or directly assisting with one-on-one and/or group meetings, presentations, trainings, and the like G. One (1) year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years Special Working Conditions
