Job Summary

Under supervision, learns and assists with installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems, workstation images, and related software using enterprise deployment tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). Assists with packaging, installing, and deploying applications to Windows endpoints. Shadows administrators and other team members to learn tools, techniques, and procedures for Windows automation and remediation. Provides support for Chrome based devices including inventory, maintenance, and administration. Assists with maintaining awareness of ticketing and email communications and provides assistance with tasks. Communicates technical information to non-technical users in a professional manner and performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

30% - System Deployment & Application Packaging

Under supervision, assist with imaging, configuring, and deploying Windows-based computers using enterprise tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM); learn and implement tools and technologies utilized in Windows application packaging and operating system deployment

20% - Systems Administration

Under supervision, assist, learn, and develop into an increasingly responsible role utilizing various enterprise systems administration workspaces including but not limited to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Chrome Administration workspaces to manage assets and perform various administrative duties

20% - Technical Support and Troubleshooting

Respond to assigned incidents and service requests; troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral issues on Windows and Chrome systems; document resolutions in appropriate systems and escalate issues as appropriate.

10% - Professional Development

Actively perform research to solidify understanding of learned and new concepts; transfer knowledge to other appropriate coworkers and record technical steps for future use by others

10% - Provide Support

Provide support to other IT department staff; learn and utilize knowledge to effectively provide support in person and remotely

10% - Other Duties as Assigned

Perform related tasks consistent with the classification as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION
High school education or the equivalent. Other acceptable education may include some college, no degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE
No formal or paid work experience required.
Manager may prefer experience gained through some of the following examples:
* Work shadowing, which is typically 1 or 2 weeks of shadowing and experienced incumbent which allows the shadow to gain an insight into a role or into a company. Student/candidates might have more than one shadowing experience.
* Participation in mentoring programs to gain insight and knowledge in the field for an experienced coach.
* Volunteering in a related field.
* College internship.
* Experiential learning towards a college/university degree program, including vocational placement as part of a training/education program requirement.
* One (1) year of paid relevant work experience.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience supporting or maintaining Windows-based desktop or laptop computers in an academic, workplace, or lab environment.

B. Familiarity with installing, configuring, and updating software applications and operating systems on Windows-based systems.

C. Experience with enterprise level administration systems including MECM and Chrome administration

D. Experience with computer imaging, system deployment, or endpoint management tools through employment, coursework, internships, student employment, or self-directed learning.

E. Experience working with enterprise level ticketing systems.

F. Associate's Degree in Information Technology

G. One (1) year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years
