Job Summary Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring an Instructional Services Coordinator to join the Physical Sciences Department. This position will serve as the operational lead for the Physical Sciences laboratories, ensuring that instructional spaces are organized, compliant, and fully prepared to support teaching and learning. This position works closely with faculty and laboratory staff to coordinate projects, maintain continuity of operations, and support high-quality lab experiences across chemistry, physics, geology, and engineering. This position is expected to independently manage day-to-day activities and provide leadership in the absence of the senior coordinator. To best serve the students, department, and college, this position is fully in-person. Essential Functions 20% - Collaborates with faculty and staff to support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of instructional laboratories. Evaluates laboratory effectiveness, quality, and outcomes, and recommends modifications or enhancements to instructional activities. Provides technical and operational support to ensure instructional programs are effectively resourced and executed. 20% - Assists in the administration of laboratory budgets, purchasing, and procurement activities. Coordinates inventory control for equipment, chemicals, and instructional supplies to ensure accuracy and availability. Supports vendor communication and purchasing decisions aligned with program needs and institutional guidelines. 20% - Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of laboratory safety programs, policies, and standard operating procedures. Supports regulatory compliance governing laboratory operations and hazardous materials management. Oversees and monitors proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials. 15% - Serves as the lead worker for daily laboratory operations. Assists in the planning, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing of staff work. Provides training, guidance, and performance feedback to laboratory staff. Participates in recruitment, evaluation, disciplinary, and termination processes as assigned. 15% - Performs project management activities for laboratory and instructional program initiatives, including operational planning, logistics coordination, timeline development, and implementation oversight. Ensures projects are completed efficiently and in alignment with departmental objectives. 10% - Collects, monitors, and evaluates operational and instructional data. Prepares reports, proposals, and program materials. Oversees maintenance of laboratory files, records, and documentation. Assists in the preparation, administration, and collection of assessment and program evaluation materials to support continuous improvement efforts. Other duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related program area and one (1) year of full-time-equivalent program coordination experience. OR Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related program area and three (3) years of full-time-equivalent program coordination experience. An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered .
