Retail Field Communications Writer/Editor (Retail Stores + Retail Care Centers)

Retail Engagement and Marketing is seeking an experienced writer and editor who will be responsible for crafting and editing their critical Retail field communications, as well as creating communications that enable teams to get the information they need to do their job well. This role will work closely with the Communication Strategy team as well as key cross functional business partners to ensure internal communications are timely, relevant, and supportive for the needs of field teams, including Retail Store and Retail Customer Care (RCC) team members.

It is important that you are able to work at a fast-pace in response to the fluid and evolving business needs and are able to craft communication that is accessible and useful for busy field teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates outstanding copywriting and copy editing skills across all communication channels, from online, to narrative, as well as emails and newsletters. You possess strong communication, project and time management skills, and have a proven ability to work collaboratively with others - including executive leadership - in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment. You are a motivated, self-starter who stays calm under pressure.

Key Qualifications:



  • 4+ years developing and writing communications preferably within an internal communications function; field communications experience a plus; expertise in developing audience-first urgent communications for unplanned or "in-the-moment" situations.
  • Possess excellent writing skills that can deliver clear messages that motivates behavior change while meeting business goals in a fast paced, dynamic, global environment.
  • Experience navigating a complex group of stakeholders.
  • Working cross-functionally within a large business structure.
  • Deliver great storytelling, articulating vision and purpose; while also providing concise tactical and operational content.
  • Able to contextualize all actions in a broader strategic narrative that ensures teams can connect messages and tasks to a higher vision.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Self-starter who works effectively in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing ambiguity while delivering projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management capability with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Exceptional learning agility - ability to listen, learn, and apply insights during dynamic situations.
  • Demonstrated passion for Retail, with experience on how to engage people in a human way.


Responsibilities:



  • Work with key stakeholders to write, edit and curate weekly communications for the field.
  • Writes, edits, and curates field communication response to unplanned events and crises.
  • Collaborate with the cross functional business partners to develop and implement response comms, processes, and procedures to enable Retail field teams to do their best work.
  • Ensure feedback and insight from teams, including engaging them in idea generation and content creation with the necessary guardrails.
  • Ensure readiness for communication in the field, partnering the editorial team to ensure content is suitable and that leaders are equipped to deliver messages where relevant.
  • Ensure credo and values are represented in all communications in the correct tone of voice.
  • Support and develop a response strategy for unplanned events and follow through, ensuring all audience recipients are well informed.
