What will I do as a Laundry Tech?

As a Laundry Tech, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by:

  • Collecting residents' soiled personal clothing from residents' rooms; collecting long-term care residents' personal clothing from nursing units. Collecting house linens from nursing units and dining rooms to avoid soiled linen buildup. Transport laundry containers to Laundry.
  • Sorting and weighing laundry. Loading soiled linen into washers. Loading clean, wet linens into dryers. Operates commercial washing machines and dryers.
  • Folds clean, dry linen. Make up carts of linens for delivery.
  • Washes, dries, and folds personal clothing. Adds name labels to new personal items.
  • Returns clean linens and personal items to nursing units and residents/guests' rooms to avoid clean linen shortages. Delivers incontinent products to patient rooms.
  • Maintains laundry areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner. Maintains equipment.
  • Check stock and notify the supervisor of supply needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What is required in this position?

Experience in healthcare facility is preferred.
