Responsibilities

Meridell Achievement Centeris a 134-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our 60-acre campus is complete with mature oaks, rolling hills, and plenty of walking paths and outdoor spaces. We have 7 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development needs with a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports court and playing fields.We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 10 to 17 years old with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

The Admissions Coordinatorassess the clinical and financial appropriateness of potential admissions and facilitating external arrangements for admissions including coordinating staff assignments for care and bed placement. Hours will be 10:30am to 7:00pm 5 days a week. You may choose your schedule, either Monday - Friday, Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday.

The Intake Clinician is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the patient intake process
  • Patient intake calls
  • Providing information to individuals, agencies, facilities and Professional Staff (i.e. Physicians, therapists, hospitals)
  • Requesting information regarding potential admissions
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with ongoing referral sources referring to alternate treatment sources
  • When appropriate assisting with travel arrangements for patients and families
  • Completing necessary admission paperwork

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:

  • Must have Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health field.
  • One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and / or young adults in a long-term hospital or residential setting preferred.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of Clinical experience in psychiatric setting
  • Situational evaluation
  • Crisis intervention.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Must have LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMSW

  • Current driver license.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Demonstrate effective organization.
  • Independent judgement
  • Ability to relate to patient in crisis or emotionaly disturbed.
  • Ability to assess the clinical and financial appropriateness of potential admissions
  • Abiity to coordintate admissions between staff and assignments for care and bed placement.
