Your Job

Molex is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to support and advance automated manufacturing systems at our Maumelle, Arkansas facility. In this role, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and optimize control systems that improve safety, quality, and productivity across our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable automation solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain PLC-based control systems for manufacturing equipment and automated processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve controls, electrical, and automation issues to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning, including factory and site acceptance testing
  • Develop and maintain control system documentation, including schematics, I/O lists, and programming standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, maintenance, quality, safety) to implement process improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and safety
  • Ensure control systems comply with safety standards, electrical codes, and Molex engineering standards
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel as needed
  • Support new equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning, including factory and site acceptance testing at Molex productions globally

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Willing to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls or automation engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting with Beckhoff-TwinCAT
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programing, Ladder Logic and Structured Text
  • Experience with HMI development, industrial networks, and I/O systems
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience supporting high-volume or discrete manufacturing operations
  • Programing experience with robotics, vision systems, VFDs, servos, and Interpolated motion control (Camming, Gearing)
  • Experience with safety PLCs, machine safety standards, and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience working cross-functionally with maintenance and production teams
