Job Summary:

The Business Development Coordinator provides comprehensive support for Firmwide marketing and business development efforts across multiple practice areas. This role assists with proposals, research, events, sponsorships, rankings, and client materials, while maintaining key systems and databases and contributing to communications and brand visibility. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:


Job Functions:

Business Development

  • Supports the Business Development (BD) Team and Practice Chairs in executing strategic business development initiatives by assisting with proposal preparation, conducting client and prospect research, maintaining pipeline tracking, coordinating content development and distribution, and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Assist with preparation of pitches, proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials by leveraging existing content and developing new materials as needed.
  • Lead the coordination of industry sponsorships, including conferences and client-driven events.
  • Collaborate with the Events Coordinator to execute on practice area events.
  • Work with attorneys and BD/Marketing team to assemble and track rankings/surveys, including supervising Chambers nomination process.
  • Manage directory subscriptions, listings, and submissions schedule.
  • Coordinate with communications team on corresponding deadlines for speaking engagement and conference roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with practice area leaders to support client development projects from initiation through delivery.
Technology/Database Management
  • Support the maintenance of all aspects of the Firm's CRM system, ContactEase, and its integration with other databases and information tools utilized by the firm.
  • Maintain contact information and target lists in the Firm's CRM system to ensure focus on the Firm's BD goals.
  • Collaborate with events coordinator on event communication and tracking of event RSVPs and informing relevant attorneys and groups.
  • Maintain attorney bio updates on choate.com using WordPress.
  • Maintain representative experience and business development activities in the Firm's tracking system, Pitchly.
  • Create, proofread and copyedit client-facing and internal marketing communications, including bios, invitations, alerts, etc.
  • Create and communicate marketing analytics reports via the Firm's marketing communications platform, Vuture.
  • Intake lead on sourcing, writing, editing and placement of daily intranet "Difference Makers" entry.
Administrative
  • Coordinate and follow-up on action items from BD Initiatives.
  • Provide other administrative support to the BD team.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business required.
  • 3-5 years of professional services experience required, including at least 2 years in marketing or business development; law firm experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build effective relationships and respond to internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and responsiveness
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with professionals at all levels.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify opportunities or issues, and recommended practical solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with CRM systems and WordPress preferred.
  • Ability to effectively leverage Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools, while reviewing and validating outputs for accuracy.
  • Willing to work additional hours as needed.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range for this specific position at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to qualifications and experience, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
