Job Summary

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, fitting, and mounting sub-assemblies and components used in electrical control equipment and power distribution products. This role supports production operations through assembly, inspection, testing, material handling, and shipment preparation activities while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical or assembly experience and is comfortable working with hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assemble panelboards, switchboards, and related electrical control equipment according to customer specifications, electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions
  • Perform mechanical assembly, fitting, mounting, and wiring of components and sub-assemblies
  • Use hand and power tools including wire strippers, pliers, drills, and other assembly equipment
  • Inspect and test finished assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and codes
  • Perform assembly tasks required for test preparation and final inspections
  • Utilize established testing and power checking procedures to verify electrical and mechanical integrity of completed units
  • Maintain expected production output and communicate material shortages, quality concerns, or production issues to leadership
  • Receive, organize, and put away materials and components
  • Prepare finished products for shipment and staging activities
  • Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts related to quality, safety, and productivity
  • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with 5S and safety standards
  • Cross-train across departments and support additional production functions as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in assembly, manufacturing, construction, automotive repair, carpentry, or a related hands-on environment required
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools required
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive assembly activities throughout the shift
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must reside within commuting distance of the work location
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime before and after scheduled shifts, as well as weekends, as needed


Work Experience



  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, manufacturing, automotive repair, construction, or carpentry preferred
  • Experience working in production or industrial manufacturing environments preferred
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and 5S practices is a plus
