Summary of Job Description:

The Senior SCM Manager, SCM Risk Management is responsible for developing strategies, processes, and guidance for proactive risk management of suppliers, commodities, and portfolio of goods and services within Supply Chain Management. This position ensures business continuity and supply chain resilience by executing the risk management program for various categories, ensuring that the suppliers selected fit Panda's culture and philosophy, have the necessary capacity and financial stability, and provide the items at the best price and highest quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and continually improves risk management tools, practices, and metrics to help SCM understand and manage specific risks, including commodity, supplier, portfolio, and financial risks. Identifies the potential for expansion of risk management activities into other portfolio areas.
  • Collects, manages, and reports external market intelligence. Provides insights and reports on commodity and supplier performance, trends, and forecasts to senior leadership by relaying complex information in an accessible format. Stays ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure PRG remains competitive and compliant in the food service supply chain landscape.
  • Implements data-driven decision-making systems for risk management measures through advanced analytics, automation, and AI
  • Champions a culture of continuous improvement by embedding structured prioritization frameworks aligned with enterprise strategies; and identifies best practice amongst peer companies and in other sectors where appropriate
  • Monitors commodity price fluctuations to take proactive measures to mitigate cost and supply assurance risks. Advises senior leadership with timely, comprehensive risk management advice on the buying and contracting of specific commodities and products, including coverage recommendations to optimize value in commodity markets
  • Responsible for achieving strategic optimal arrangements related to procuring commodities and heavily-commodity-influenced products for the company through collaboration with the related Sourcing professionals. Assist Sourcing Managers in managing their portfolios through exploration of commodity impacts to pricing and appropriate levers to mitigate risks.
  • Develops and refines supplier qualification criteria and assessment process to ensure third-party suppliers' financial stability, operational reliability, and food safety/food quality controls. Evaluates potential suppliers in collaboration with other PRG departments concerning the viability of their product and acceptability of their manufacturing facility.
  • Provides financial planning and budgeting support for Annual Operating Plan and Limited Time Offers based on insights related to commodities, industry trends, regulatory changes, and other macro environmental impacts.
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential threats to PRG's supply base, such as supplier failures, single sourced items, geopolitical instability, or natural disasters, by conducting risk assessments, developing contingency plans, implementing risk management processes and tools, and ensuring business continuity and supply chain resilience.
  • Recruits, selects, and develops an effective team of sourcing professionals and support staff. Provides leadership, coaching and development to the team to meet the department's people planning and development goals.

Your background & experience:

Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent field required; MBA preferred

  • * Minimum seven years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in a nationally branded retail/hospitality organization
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Pay Range: M3: $ $127,000 - $178,000/ Annual

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
