Overview

Assists in the oversight of supplies and provides physical assistance to the professional staff and department in fulfilling the mission of Rehabilitation Services of providing quality and cost-effective care to patients. Assists in maintaining department cleanliness, supply stock, and regulatory readiness. Assists in the provision of rehabilitative services under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Conforms to Hospital and Department Policy & Procedures and the principles of Service Excellence.
    • 1.1 Adjust his/her work schedule to accommodate for busy periods.
  • 2. Works under the direct supervision of a therapist, following instructions and acting within department policy.
    • 2.1 Prepares patients of all ages for treatment and assists with patient care in all areas of the hospital under the direct supervision of the responsible therapist.
  • 3. Maintains necessary equipment and supplies; ensures a clean, neat and orderly environment.
    • 3.1 Assures that workplace is cleaned regularly.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School diploma or GED required.
**Employees employed by YNHH effective 9/12/2012 as a result of the acquisition of the Hospital of St Raphael
may meet educational requirements with the applicable combination of education and experience and
demonstration of current competences.

EXPERIENCE

Previous work experience as an aide and/or other health care experience preferred.

LICENSURE

Current BLS/CPR certification required within two months of hire.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Must be able to accurately read and use metric measurements, calibrate and report findings on equipment. Basic
computer skills required for data entry, email, and Mobile Heartbeat. Capable of taking phone messages and
operating office equipment to copy, scan and fax documents. Ability to work independently. Good interpersonal
skills. Job requires dexterity to perform support services for the therapist.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

The worker must be able to stand, walk, talk hear, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, climb and perform repetitive motions of the wrist, fingers or hands. The worker is subject to inside environmental /atmospheric conditions such as poor ventilation and is also subject to hazards such as exposure to chemicals. The worker must be able to operate various exercise equipment. Must be able to exert up to 100lbs. of force occasionally, and or/ up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects or the human body with assistance as necessary.
Incumbents as well as internal applicants who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without the assistance of reasonable accommodation as determined on a case by case basis.
