Overview

Evaluates, supervises and monitors clients during exercise component of rehabilitation process. As member of rehabilitation services team, evaluates profiles/intakes and recommends exercise programs. Develops exercise prescriptions and renders exercise programs upon physician referral for apparently healthy and diseased populations. Enables participants to engage in safe, effective and enjoyable fitness programs to enhance functioning levels and wellness. Questions, concerns, and medical decisions regarding treatment must be discussed with lead rehabilitation clinician, manager and/or medical advisor. Follows up, documents and maintains participants? needs. This role may require practice outside the hospital campus within community, such as Health Fairs etc. and own transportation may be utilized. Qualifications EDUCATION Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science/ Exercise Physiology. Masters preferred. EXPERIENCE 3 year recent relevant experience preferred. Prefer experience in working with special populations. LICENSURE BLS, ACSM certification within one year SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent interpersonal skills, public speaking skills and the ability to practice independently. Functions with or without the assistance of reasonable accommodation as determined on a case PHYSICAL DEMAND The worker must be able to stand, walk, talk, hear, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, climb and perform repetitive motions, of the wrist, fingers or hands., The worker must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and /or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects or the human body.
